I have to confess, until reading this book, I really never gave Alchemy or
magick any real consideration. I had, after all, been schooled in the
certitudes of science and technology. Much as I wanted to, I never could
contempate a consistent model that embraced both provable science and the
more mystical universe in which I longed to believe.
