¡¡Again, it's the opposite point of megalomania... No need to delay. No
need to misunderstand anything. Words only mean what was intended. I
consider this personal correspondence, that's my assertion.
¡I met and contacted you in your capacity of a party official. Not
private, I knew anything I said could be public one day, at least the
poitical stuff.
¡¡No, it's not our view. It's the LPC constitution. The Board of
Directors and the Leader nominates candidates. We follow the rules.
There is no obligation on the part of the party at all to do anything with
your request. There are hardly any members in any Vancouver riding. This
is a point of frustration, I don't like to repeat it but I have mentioned
this from the beginning.
¡¡With facebook, you have as much access now to existing and potential
members than anyone has ever had, and can help build riding assocations as
much as that can be successful.
¡¡The B.C. L.P is a separate organization.

The BCLP as I constantly tell him tend to blend meetings blurring the
separation.

¡Context. You said "I support Clarke" did you not?
¡¡In our very small party and very small board of directors, we have an
elections committee and we nominated John Clarke. I would like to try
to find other people to assist, but guess what ....
¡I didn't even have a chance to address them. A small board (although one
or two members per prov/terr. is plenty) is an elections committee or are
non-board
¡people on this? I call a ED Voting Memership and Elections Committee
that counts. What was the vote and who was on the committee, no one even
asked
¡me anything or addressed me of a elections committee meeting handing it
to Clarke, was my contesting hidden from them?
¡¡Yeah, the cc. You can cc whatever you like. I won't be cc'ing around
accusations of fraud.
¡Merely that, it requires some sort of inspection; and asking around to go
beyond the allegation or alleged status.
¡¡Yes, we support John Clarke. *We do*. As long as there is no
constituency association. Guess why there is no constituency
association? Because the party is so small. That was repeated over and
over to you. That was the nomination contest. By pushing for it, you
showed no interest in working with others and the strategy that we had in
mind of maximizing the number of candidates. It's misdirected energy.
¡A nomination contest without all candidates for the nomination to even
argue it. You never gave me numbers of riding memberships, I know it's a
more active riding.
¡Bound to have more than average amount of members. Small or not. Clarke
didn't have to face them or me. You have this assumption you can pick, I
have more room as an independent than as a libertarian. I was open to
looking at other slots if you accepted this nomination thing and found
significant support in East or Calgary North East. You chose to be
abstructive of the VM liberties internally, not walking the walk, not
offering Liberty within is a doubt it will happen on the outside. This
scares members away.
¡¡Yes, correspondence with an organization is usually considered private -
it's not a legal thing, you're right that a political party is a "public
institution" subject to all sorts of oppressive state rules that are meant
to infringe on our freedom of action - but there are social rules that go
beyond the law which you break constantly such as even using "less
fraudulent". If you want to harrass the people who push the paper
around, which is what we do, then you're at odds with that.
¡Sorry you take that quoted content out of context, plus miss the point.
Harrass, heh, that's not what I am doing, I am holding the organization to
account, to
¡what it claims to stand for. Ever read the definition of Liberty and
Libertarian; I even e-mailed it to you. Fraud does extend to false
advertising, and no liberty
¡in a Libertarian party is just that. Small and Big L should refer to the
same thing. "Oppressive Rules"? Independents suffer oppressive rules in
nominations
¡required 100 signatures of their time and an absurd old money loving fee.
Those are individules, dragging my feet I'll quote a character from "Atlas
Shrugged,"
¡"...individuals are the largest minority...." and they are discriminated
against more than anyone. There's a convention, peaceful assembly; a
nomination meeting
¡is a peaceful assembly, that smoke filled room you nominated Clarke in is
secretive and not peaceful assembly. The freedom to join is a freedom of
association.
¡Sure when conducting official party business you do sacrafice some things
as a group; but as an individual nothing; especially marital status and
other things
¡that should be private. Not sure a secret, but not easy to get ot be
volunteered. You told me not to blame administration and said it was just
posting notes and
¡crap (maybe a stamp machine will improve time, lessen line-ups). I
agree, if I must register as a Libertarian I should do so with my voting
registration; not
¡with the 3 year pain in the ass form; that violates all of us
individually; if I update it, then I do.
¡Does elections Canada and myself get to know all that goes on during this
vote on Clarke's Party Nomination? One you said was strickly Jean-Serge's
at one pont.
¡Which is it, the story changes a lot.
¡¡I think you helped promote the party and you made contributions in
different ways on facebook. As far as remembering everything, I can't
right now. All I see is red.
¡True, a bit more, hah you should see the dirty looks from a guy after
posting on a sign cylender the info side of the panflit (one with your
okay posted to it).
¡The blur and red thing is why taking some time wasn't offensive to me,
like I said a busy time; if I wait a week to hear a response if you want
to make one, then I do.
¡¡Look, when I became aware of the candidates at the election at the end
of 2005 I think, when I was assisting the election and website editor we
had, the leader and president had chosen John Clarke and his name was up
there on the site page for the 2006 election. That's all I heard about.
Maybe nobody read your correspondence. The Leader of the LPC has every
right to nominate the candidate. Period.
¡He can nominate one chosen by the voting members or over rule their
choice after the vote. Hence the section 4 of nomination rules as you may
remember.
¡No one if an official nominee of a party until the letter is signed and
sent and even that can be repealed as the Greens did to Kevin Potvin.
¡As for 2006, you may have been dropped this steamer, because I remember
bringing this up with you and Brisson. Shaw might have gotten it as well.
¡¡Liberty vs. libertarian. I have no idea what you're talking about.
¡Definition. You must be tired (yeah of this, but I mean in general).
¡¡But I recognize the accusation and the word FRAUD. And I will not be
accused of that. I will not be discussing anything with you again as long
as that accusation is hanging out there. I will take your stuff to the
convention, but I can't continue any of this. I am sick to death of all
this.
¡¡Alan Mercer
¡How am I wrong? Maybe you never bothered to look up the word liberty in
the dictionary or libertarian.
¡I am sick of this, and it's purely an allegation of suspicion. You do
change your story a lot, and
¡you fight to hard for one Candidate out of 42 potential ones without this
dispute.
¡Thanks anyway, but the liberty I see is taken with facts with little
correction of my assertion other than
¡conflicting positions. Maybe you have a memory thing, and the fraud is a
thing refered primarily to party rule
¡and the matter that a Libertarian Party has to guarantee liberty to it's
members; the name is advertisement.
¡This is false advertisement. An election commission is a smoke filled
room. I rather have no Candidate there
¡with the party than the dispute denied. I am suprised your not upset
Clarke has stayed silent.
¡That contact/@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
means he got it by the way.
