Hi all,
I am trying to locate a tale I heard a while back, but can't remember
all of the specifics of the story. It is something like two men are
on horseback traveling through the desert and are stopped in their
tracks when they heard a thundering roar from the heavens instructing
them to place as much sand as they can in their pockets and exit the
desert at once. They do so, and continue their journey across the
desert. IIRC, one of the men feels weighed down by the sand or
something and casts off much of it along the way, while the other
obediently holds on to his. As they make their way to the edge of the
desert, each grain of sand changes into a jewel. The take-away is
related to a grain of sand today, a jewel tomorrow.
Anyway, this is kind of a long shot posting with such a request, but
my search queries are getting nowhere. Any pointers to where this
story might be from would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
- Doug
