Indeed.  One may well interpret this as a quatrain about the Iraqi War.
Certainly Saddam was overthrown, but aren't the violence, murder, rape,
and
kidnapping that currently plague this shattered nation equally pernicious
as
a form of tyranny?  And the prostitute could easily refer to convicted
embezzler (by the Jordanian government) Ahmed Chalabi, the Iraqi exile who
is our main puppet there.  The false poem he read could refer to all the
smoke he blew up the Pentagon's ass about massive WMD stockpiles in Iraq
to
make the invasion happen.
