Advanced Visual Interfaces International Working Conference

                                CALL FOR PAPERS
The 7th International Working Conference on Advanced Visual Interfaces
(AVI 2004) will be held in Gallipoli (Lecce), Italy, May 25-28, 2004. The
Conference traditionally brings together experts in different areas of
computer science who have a common interest in the conception, design and
implementation of visual interfaces. Because of the new class of
computers,
such as digital assistants, palmtops and mobile phones, AVI opens to
perceptual
interfaces, not limited to the use of visual techniques, which appear the
appropriate solution to the design of dedicated interfaces, optimised for
a
given
hardware and/or specific applications. Both formal methods and concrete
applications well fit in the conference, whose program also includes
invited
talks, given by leaders in the field.

                                    TOPICS

Visual Interface Design Animated Interfaces

                               PAPER SUBMISSION

We strongly encourage submissions that address research and development on
the above and other related topics, or that propose new approaches
suitable for
fulfilling the demands that characterize advanced interfaces of the next
generation. Three kinds of contribution are solicited: RESEARCH papers, up
to 8000 words (approximately 20 double-spaced pages including figures),
SHORT
papers describing promising work in progress, up to 4000 words
(approximately
10 double-spaced pages including figures), and SYSTEM papers up to 4000
words. System papers will be accompanied by a demonstration of the
software
prototype and should include a detailed project/system description
specifying hw/sw requirements (demonstrators may either use personal
laptops,
or provide a full working version of accepted prototypes - available for
installation - by April 16, 2004). Papers are submitted electronically.
Detailed information
on electronic submission will be provided at the AVI 2004 web site.
Authors
intending to submit a paper MUST first send an electronic abstract of no
more than 250 words by filling in the abstract submission form that
provided
at the AVI 2004 web site (abstracts are intended for classification
purposes
only and must be followed by the paper).

PANEL, TUTORIAL, AND WORKSHOP PROPOSAL SUBMISSION

Panels - The aim of panels is to stimulate the discussion, so they
should address exciting, hot, and controversial topics rather than being
short paper sessions. The panel proposal should include a 1000 word
abstract,
which illustrates the panel topic, stating compelling issues to be
debated,
and a list of all panel members.

Tutorials - Tutorials provide conference participants with the op****tunity
to gain new insights in the area of advanced visual interfaces. The up to
two page tutorial proposal should clearly state the content, organization,
and target audience of the tutorial. A/V requirements and a biosketch of
the
presenter(s) should also be provided.

Workshops - The objective of the pre-AVI workshops is to focus on special
topics of major im****tance. The up to 1000 word proposal should state the
objective and significance of the workshop, potential participants, format
and duration of the workshop.

                                DEMO SUBMISSION

The Exhibit Program will primarily consist of demonstrations of software
prototypes. The demo proposal should include a detailed project/system
description of up to 3000 words (specifying hw/sw requirements). A full
working version of accepted prototypes must be available for installation
by
April 16, 2004.

included in the Proceedings published by ACM Press.

VENUE: Gallipoli is a well-known ancient town in Southern Italy and a
beach resort on the Ionian coast of Salento. Its name derives from the
Greek
"kalle polis" which means "beautiful town". It is composed of two
different
areas: the modern one situated on a promontory, and the other one, which
is
a colourful medieval village, built on a little island extending into the
Ionian Sea, where there are several churches and a little museum in the
maze of
narrow streets. The Angioin castle dominates the island. The conference
will be
held at the Grand Hotel Costa Brada, located along the sandy shores of
Gallipoli.
The air****t closest to Gallipoli is Brindisi air****t. Shuttles will be
provided by the conference organization from Brindisi air****t and from
Lecce
train station.

ABOUT CWUAAT
------------
CWUAAT '04 is the second in a series of workshops that are held every two
years. CWUAAT '04 has been inspired by, and builds on, the highly
successful CWUAAT '02 along with the Cambridge Workshops on Rehabilitation

Robotics. The first CWUAAT had over 80 participants, from 3 continents.

Reflecting the spirit of recent moves to extend the rights for universal
accessibility, these workshops are aimed at a broad range of interests,
although with a general focus on product/solution development. It is
intended that the principal requirements for the successful design of
assistive technology shall be addressed. The range of requirements extends

from identifying and capturing the needs of the users, through to the
development and evaluation of truly usable and accessible systems for
users
with special needs. Such users include, but are not limited to, those with

functional impairments and the elderly.

Likely participants include computer scientists, designers, engineers,
industrial representatives, ergonomists and sociologists.

Bonjour la,

How are you?  Allez neuf?  I love robotics and I love social imaging.  I
am
behavioural explanation and I like it.  I am grace to man on God, and I am
God.  I wonder if you could tell me (e`st que tu peau veri moi) la que a,
route
de, noir Paul Nisbet's naf de guerr, social image in h.c.i., because I
made the
footswitch boxes and not him, the small boxes.  I go to church. my CV =
2.  I
bar.  H.C.I. is mine, myself, not his, crazy ****.  Il est technical de
moi,
God, not born de God.  Avez tu a table for me, a way to say it?  Il est
not
nice with intimates false when I need my dad - testing is testing and its
not
reflexive invisible upon man gravitation, H.C.I. should not arse parse by
ui'ing conversation, by its end points.  It cares and it stares (I hate
him).
I am the Creator God, care is radiant and shown off, it's majestic for a
dad,
care is normal.

He rapes me on the invisble level when he thinks I don't get it, but I'm
not
who it makes.  Crazy shakes.

This is my chat structure:

Bugsie222:     please dont use laguage like that
Monihanr:     Alright.
Monihanr:     L
Monihanr:     Sorry.
Bugsie222:     thankyou
Bugsie222:     go and do not sin again
Monihanr:     Good.
Bugsie222:     ONLY GOD IS GOOD
Monihanr:     My name is Gilbert
Bugsie222:     COOL
Monihanr:     Jesus is to be followed.
Bugsie222:     U THINK SO
Monihanr:     What's your name?
Bugsie222:     ROBERT
Bugsie222:     I DONT REALLY BELIEVE IN HIM MYSELF
Monihanr:     Jesus is interesting.
Monihanr:     Yes.
Monihanr:     Yea.
Bugsie222:     INTERESTING MAN CERTAINLY
Monihanr:     He lives.
Monihanr:     Bye bye!

He can't give me a robot.  That's it.  He says that it can.  My dad is
Gilbert
Cockton and he?s kind.  I mean God is good, I am good, [Nostradamus is
kind.
He talks to you warmly and pertainently.  It is mere and pleasant to know
him.
Matter is real, and just is majesty and meaning.  He does not tak about
thing
you are scared of because he is a wallie, not a gravitator, a man.  He's
not a
genetic relative.  It pleasants, with Gilbert.   Look and show find, and
majesty and meaning win.  Jesus saves.

Can you help me with Paul Nisbet?  I'd like to do a Doctorate in Computer
Science, Human-Computer Interaction with the Open University, Edinburgh
University, Glasgow University or Stirling University, move out and
things.
Can I have a reference from you, please?  My CV is page
http://hometown.aol.co.uk/monihanr/myhomepage/cv.html.

Thank you very much.

Bye bye!

Gilbert
