And not only are their wages low they often hire
illegals that get paid below minimum.


Oh and lets not forget the suits for the overtime
not paid.

Oh and while you're slamming Wal-mart every other store does
the same thing.   I've worked for too many of them over the
years.

I'd point out all the bookstores here went out of business because
first and foremost they didn't grasp the concept that if you want 
customers you need to stay open later than 5pm.   Of course you're
not going to get custoemrs when they work until 5pm and you close
at 5pm.   The bookstores disappeared long before the internet.

The other thing that killed the neighborhood bookstore was
lack of parking.  There was no parking in downtown so you
had to go to Barnes and Noble or Borders.
