Our moderate-to-conservative US Supreme Court will soon shoot
down Roe V Wade. But without providing exceptions for cases of
forcible-rape, *****, and perhaps in cases where severe, life-
threatening risks to the pregnant woman exceed 90+% etc., then
the States aren't likely to get such draconian measures passed
by the voters, just as we saw happen in South Dakota this last
election cycle. Personally, I'd like to see a Federal ban on
abortions, narrowly with the aforesaid exceptions of rape and
*****, but I understand that choosing between the lesser of
two evils is what politics is about. This is called compromise,
a practice with which non-negotiating extremists on either side
of the sharply-divided political aisle are too often unfamiliar.
You see, permanently overturning Roe V Wade and winning a legal
ban on abortions nationwide, or at least State-by-State, is as
much about politics as it is about strong religious conviction.
It's like the joke about a rabbi and a priest sitting ringside
at a champion****p boxing match. Just before the opening bell
rings, one of boxers, who is a Catholic, kneels in the corner
and crosses himself. So the rabbi asks the priest, What's that
mean? And the priest replied, Not a damned thing if he doesn't
know how to box! I'm paraphrasing that from memory, from a
movie whose name escapes me. But I think the point is clear,
The point being, it's good to be more realistic where politics
are concerned. The A.C.L.U., the Anti-Christian Liberal Union,
aren't going down without a firefight...so, prepare for *WAR*! :)
