Although I appreciate what you are trying to do, that kind of exhortation
doesn't do any good.

HOW does the Lord Jesus Christ help? By giving us self-respect. Each of
us
is an immortal individual, loved by God, and precious in His sight. (GROW
wisdom, also Desiderata) It was James who said that even saying this is
not
enough. We need to get in there beside the suffering person - pretty
impossible from the other side of the world (I am in Bendigo, Australia.)

Have you ever been depressed, Daniel? Depression is an insidious thing.
It
warps our thinking in spite of ourselves. I inherited it - a genetic
defect. All the "right thinking" in the world won't change that.
Positive
thinking or counting our blessings just bounces off. Fortunately, I am
not too bad, and I have learned to cope. When suicidal thoughts came to
me, I was able to beat them. But some are worse. BTW, in a depression
group, mention of suicide or anything relating to self-harm is a
"spoiler";
it is flagged in the Subject: line to warn susceptible individuals.

To the OP, I can only say: you have a right to be here. You are im****tant
to
me. Hang in there, and take one day at a time. You may not be able to
beat depression entirely, but you can live each day until bedtime and let
tomorrow look to itself, as Jesus, psychologists and many others have
said. "Each day is a new life to the wise man" was the stay of one
person.
I like Desiderata, which encourages the same attitude. If religion helps,
I am not decrying it. From here, I can't tailor the Christian message to
your needs. Talk to friends; get out in the sunlight if you can. The
same
Vitamin D that is generated in sunlight and cures rickets also helps the
kind of depression known as SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder.)
