Same out-of-focus photography, same ludicrous background music, same
ridiculous claim about Native Americans, except for the Moneton,
Cherokee, Conoy, Delaware, Honniasont, Susquehanna and Shawnees, who
settled in various parts of West Virginia before 1671. The state of
West Virginia was officially created on June 20, 1863.
It was probably much scarier after that than before.

The Jupiter Effect, written by two otherwise sensible astronomers in
1974, predicted dreadful effects on our planet as a result of a March 10,
1982, "alignment" of planets. When the date came and went, no one
noticed. One of the authors re****ted that some earthquakes which had
occurred in 1980 had been the "premature result of The Jupiter Effect,"
and the public yawned in amazement.
