less than TWO MONTHS TO GO (or thirty days, depending on the
press release) until the world ends at 7:00 AM on July 5th, it is time
to begin the FINAL PREPARATIONS for our departure onto the Escape
Vessels of the *** Goddesses! X-Day will once again take place at
Brushwood Folklore Center in Sherman, New York, and the "official"
time of our festival will be Wednesday, July 2 to Sunday, July 6.
The reason why we're saying "July 6" is so that you'll be able to
announce your "vacation" (heh heh heh) time in advance with the
CONSPIRACY. If your "job" requires you to schedule a vacation, then
you can tell them you'll be gone through Sunday the 6th. Of course,
when they find their very ATOMS split asunder at 7:00 AM on Saturday
morning, then that will be THEIR problem -- and the least of their
worries will be your scheduled time off through that Sunday.
In fact, we strongly encourage you to schedule an additional day as
well. After spending the Saturday of X-Day partying all day (in
between nuclear strikes) and celebrating (or other things) all night,
you may very well be completely exhausted on Sunday morning. This
would not be the ideal condition for making the return trip to your
home...especially if you are driving through the radioactive,
shattered ruins of civilization. Therefore, we recommend that you
stay through Sunday and get an extra night's sleep, so that you can
take Monday for your return trip.
ALL ATTENDEES at X-Day are encouraged to take part in the events, one
way or another. In addition to your necessary items (food, camping
gear, warm clothes), you are also encouraged to BRING WEIRD STUFF to
help you do things! Many of the greatest events of X-Day have arisen
from these spontaneous happenings. One SubGenius had an idea for
something fun, weird, and entertaining, and he or she got together to
plan and prepare for it. It is not difficult to prepare for X-Day! It
is a low-budget event, and you don't have to spend tons and tons of
money in your preparations (unless you want to). You can even throw
together a box full of weird stuff, without any idea at all of what
it's for, and FIND a use for it at X-Day!
The traditional schedule for X-Day is the same as any X-Day Drill: No
"events" are officially scheduled! However, the traditional parties
and cult rituals and other NON-EVENTS are still expected to take
place:
THE FETISH BALL. Reverend Nickie Deathchick has declared that
participants should dress up as a SONG. It can be a song you love or
a song you hate. You are encouraged to bring your chosen song with
you so that it can be played at the ball.
THE BULLDADA AUCTION. Every year the Auction has been interesting,
because you never know WHAT will be auctioned off there. Bring your
Bulldada with you, to donate to the Church and have it auctioned off.
Remember, this a real auction and the items for bid will be paid with
real Conspiracy money.
THE SACRED "BOB"-TISM. This is the only "official" Non-Event in which
there is a NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEO RECORDING rule, and that rule is
enforced. The reason for this is to ensure attendees that it is okay
to get ****d there without the risk of your photos getting splashed
all over the Internet. (In my case, I've long since decided that if
anyone is so desperate as to want to whack off to ****d pictures of
me, then they're way beyond my help and I shouldn't interfere with
it.)
THE MUSIC! Priestess Pisces has announced that FAT FREE, the stars of
the 2007 Baltimore Devival, will be in attendance at X-Day! In
addition, there are re****ts that the mysterious AMINO ACIDS will beam
down once again to destroy any audience members who somehow managed to
survive their performance last year. There are also rumors that DJ 2B
will be...somewhere...and it is possible that the late night hours
will be blessed with the mind-alterning electronica that springs from
his twisted mind.)
(I do not know yet if the legendary DJ SHAVER will be back this year,
though I personally hope he is. First of all, he's a great guy to
hang around with, and he was sorely missed last year. Just as
im****tant, his legendary Bulldada Music collection gets weirder and
more bizarre every year...as does his Dog And Pony Show.)
In addition, the stage is always open for musical performers, jam
sessions, and ranters. There has been word that Reverend Trucks (from
Bonobos Convergence) will be there, ready to TAKE ON ALL CHALLENGERS
in a musical showdown.
THE RANTING! X-DAY is YOUR chance to get up on stage and do ANY
****ING THING YOU WANT. (Except that which sullies the Slack of other
X-Day attendees. You can smash your own equipment, but don't smash
anyone else's equipment.) RANT! SING! DANCE! ****! PERFORM!
RECITE! JAM! PREACH! Many ranting superstars have made their first
appearance at X-Day, and there have been moments of true SLACK that
occurred when someone new blew the audience away.
THE FOOD! The feasts at X-Day have become almost as legendary as the
events! You are encouraged to bring food -- not just for yourself,
but for all. Sharing food is encouraged, and there have been great
cook-offs, pot lucks, stone soup collaborations, and drinking contests
that will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. (Brushwood is an outdoor camping area,
so food should be non-perishable or well-preserved.)

THE MOVIES! The past several years have seen the attendees exposed to
the mysterious radiations of DR. DARK'S AFTER DARK BULLDADA DRIVE-IN.
He has posted to alt.slack before, and there has not been any
announcement that the Drive-In would NOT take place...so hopefully he
will confirm if it will be taking place once again.
And, don't forget THE OTHER EVENTS! The best events are the ones that
YOU create! If there's something wild, something outrageous, something
fun that you've always wanted to do…then X-Day is the time to do it!
You can organize a s****ting event…prepare food for a barbeque…bring
your instruments and get onstage to jam…mount a piece of sculpture and
invite others to add to it…bring weird music or videos and do your own
radio show or film screening…summon the Elder Gods…do a performance
art piece that involves a lot of ****ity…host your own game show……or,
you can just go around and meet people!
Oh, and if this wasn't enough, we mustn't forget that the WORLD WILL
END AT PRECISELY 7:00 AM on the morning of Saturday, July 5th!
