This is the re****t of a survey to determine what faith communities
throughout the country have been doing to minister to and with those
who have serious mental illness. Chapter 1 discusses the response to
those with serious mental illness, and contrasts it with Biblical
injunctions toward justice, compassion and hospitality. Chapter 2
reviews relevant literature. Chapter 3 summarizes the survey findings.
Chapter 4 provides case studies of faith community responses, such as
the Ascension Homes project in Baltimore MD where seven congregations,
including the Govans-Boundary Parish of the United Methodist Church,
cooperate to developing housing for those with mental disorders.
People have the right to full disclosure, transparency and honesty.

congregation, if a significant number of affiliates, members or staff
are Presbyterians, Catholics, Mormons, Moonies or Scientologists.
Especially if public funds and grants are made. A claim for false
advertising, coercion, mixing Church and State issues, taking
advantage of the mentally ill or disabled.
You could effect the charter, moral, philosophical principles of other
groups, agencies and individuals.
Do you remember the scandals about Mormon baptizing the dead
ceremonies, where they symbolically baptized the victims of the
Holocaust? That was found to be wrong and the Mormons had to apologies
and stop doing the practice. What about "Praying for those who have a
mental illness the same way as for other illnesses?" " The
Presbyterian Serious Mental Illness Network (PSMIN) is a ministry of
the Presbyterian Health, Welfare, and Education Association." What if
we don't want praying or to be ministered to? Some people want nothing
to do with churches or those who work for them.
