the cu****on

So many of these discussions got me to one realisation: you know what
helps, when someone shows a bit of anger or outrage about their
oppression? That big gobs of cu****ony, marshmallow-filled, soft
landing that is my privilege. The reason that people without the
privilege get to rant and the people with it get to listen is not just
that the people without don't - trust me on this - have to go far to
get plenty of insight into how the people with think and feel ("you're
soaking in it!"), it's that it isn't going to hurt to listen. Someone
giving me **** about the, say, privilege I get for being married,
isn't going to take an iota of it away. And as an ally, I can
recognise that that cu****on gives me that strength to hear hard
things, and use it to do so. N'est pas?
