For me it's widely variable how I want to interact with someone after a
breakup, depending on too many factors to enumerate.  But I also try not
to make people choose.  In fact, I would say that I've never really been
tempted to make people choose with partners I've broken up with, but
there are people who I've had other kinds of relation****ps with that I
have been strongly tempted to require choosing (and have sometimes hinted
rather forcefully that I would prefer that people choose).
