Gotcha.  What's the cancellation policy if I reserve a room?

Heh.  The crockpot was against the rules in Vegas, too.  (And, in fact,
someone complaining to the hotel about the smell got it shut down.)
Generally speaking, corkage is usually one of the most difficult parts of
a contract to negotiate in the US and I'm not surprised that it's
essentially impossible for a small group to negotiate it in the high
season there.
