Speak for yourself. To most of us, that is the celebration
of the birth of Jesus. That does not mean that he was
born on December 25th, because most people do not know
the date. But to us, we celebrate his birthday on that date,
and to us it does have everything to do with Christ and nothing
else. I'll just guess that you can take your birthday and find
something other that happened on it other than your birth. That
does not mean that the celebration of your birthday only means
the other things that took place on your birthday.

OK...Schweetheart.....letsh exshplian thish to you....

The people who set the calendar did not mean to make
Jesus out to be pagan or his birth pagan, or anything
about him pagan or ungodly. If they got it wrong and
you got it right, you would have to come up with proof
of your theory being right. Many have debated the time
when Jesus was born, and even the wise men...who surely
were wise : ) could not ascertain the exact date of Jesus'
birth. Herod for sure did not know. He was living in a
house when the wisemen came to see him, and he was
not an infant of days at that time. Now, the people that
live today had nothing at all to do with the formation of
the calendar. We were born into it, you know? And we
celebrated Christmas in America and around the world
on the date that was set aside to be Christmas, which is
when someone somewhere decided we should celebrate
it. It's like that three-day weekend that we have instituted
in America...where they move certain things so that we
can have a holiday and two weekend days with it so that
we can take better advantage of it. Myself, I would LOVE
to celebrate Jesus' birthday on the actual day that he was
born. But scholars say that we don't know and cannot
prove exactly what day that is. You sound like you think
that you can. Why don't you make a petition somewhere
and prove to authorities what you think is the day that
Jesus was born. Maybe someone will hear you and do
something about it. But as for now, no one that loves
Jesus Christ thinks that they are being pagan and
wor****pping pagan gods to bring to mind the joy and
best wishes to all that Christmas means to all of us. We
just want to let the world know that Jesus was born and
that we love him and honor his birth.
>
Another thing...I've heard it said by some that early
believers chose to take pagan celebrations and turn
them into op****tunities to tell people about the Lord,
so that it would steal the thunder of the more worldy
meaning of those kinds of pagan events, so that the
non-believers would see the happier celebration of
joy and be drawn to it, and drawn away from that
which was the negative celebration. But what it means
now has nothing to do with pagan wor****p of false
gods. Unless of course you criticize those who turn
Christmas only into just a commercial event, which
is not so desireable.
