I found the first nail in the pixel ad coffin today.

While pixel ads charge by the pixel, the Avenues+ site charges by relative
sizes and drive home their point that pixel ads are not viable by allowing
their visitors to redraw the page - MAGNIFIED!
And they have a long list of additional bells and whistles.
There are a lot of people out there who spent money putting up pixel ad
sites and they are likely not going to prosper much longer.
My My! Sometimes even someone like me can be a prophet.
